Explosion and Fire Destroyed Two Homes and Two Injured in Maine
An explosion at a home in Sinclair caused two houses to burn down and injured two people Saturday evening.
Two Homes Destroyed & Two Injured after Explosion & Fire in Maine
The Maine State Police said the explosion happened around 7 pm at 441 Shore Road. “The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.” The Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene.
Homeowner Injured after Explosion
The owner of the residence was home at the time and was taken to the hospital with injuries. The house was a complete loss.
Explosion Caused a Second House Fire
“The explosion also caused a second residence to catch fire. The second residence was occupied at the time, but the homeowner was able to get out safely,” said Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.
Ongoing Investigation
“Investigators will be on scene all day interviewing witnesses and processing the scene,” said Moss.
Multiple Agencies Responded
Assisting on the scene was the North Lakes Fire and Rescue, St. Agatha Fire Department, Fort Kent Fire Department, Frenchville Fire Department, Fort Kent Ambulance Service, Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office.
