Emera Maine Urges Motorists to Help Keep Workers Safe
Emera Maine crews can be at risk working on or near highway projects throughout the state this summer.
As Emera Maine works alongside the Maine Department of Transportation and other partners on summer road construction projects as well as efforts to ensure customers continue to have access to safe, reliable electricity, motorists are asked to do everything they can to keep themselves and the crews out of harm’s way.
If you see Emera Maine crews or any other workers along the roadway, please help keep them safe:
- Avoid distractions while driving.
- Be watchful for signs and lights indicating road work.
- Move over far enough to give crews room to work.
- Slow down to pass workers at a safe speed.
The crews work throughout northern and eastern Maine to bring power to their customers, and safety is their first consideration. If you’re operating a motor vehicle, please make safety your first priority as well.
