Dave Portnoy Wins $1.8M if the Patriots Win the Super Bowl
While all of New England is rooting for the New England Patriots, the Barstool Sports founder has a lot riding on a win.
For those who don’t know, Dave Portnoy is the founder of Barstool Sports, a hugely popular sports and pop-culture media brand known for its bold, unfiltered content. Portnoy is also widely recognized for his viral ‘One Bite’ pizza reviews, where he rates pizza slices across the country, and has become one of the internet’s most recognizable personalities—all while being a Boston sports fan.

On Sunday, January 18, 2026, following the Patriots’ win over the Houston Texans in the AFC Divisional Championship game, Portnoy shared a screenshot from his DraftKings account.
The screenshot highlights his Super Bowl futures bet, showing that Portnoy has an open $50,000 wager on the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl at +3500 odds, which would pay out $1.8 million if New England goes all the way.

While we don’t know exactly when the bet was placed, it had to have come much earlier in the season, back when the Patriots were not viewed as a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
As of publication, their odds on DraftKings sit at +255, meaning if that same wager were made today, the potential payout would be just $177,500.

And there you have it! With a Super Bowl win, Dave Portnoy would also cash in, earning a 36-fold return on his $50,000 bet.
