Because of paving at mile 63, only one lane reopened, so backups will continue for the rest of the day. Troopers said an elderly man struck a paving-roller and was taken to Central Maine Medical Center with serious injuries. Northbound traffic was diverted at exit 53 in Falmouth on the Maine Turnpike. Motorists then took Route 100 to Gray in order to get back on the turnpike and avoid the crash site.
