A 37-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman were arrested Monday after a hit and run crash on Hammond Street in Bangor.

Nicholas Bennet was charged with violating conditions of release and Michele Payeur faces charges for Operating under the Influence and leaving the scene of a crash.

The Bangor Police Department said officers located their vehicle following the crash. Payeur was taken into custody shortly after fleeing the scene.

Bennett was apprehended after 911 calls about a suspicious man near the scene of the crash, according to WABI News.

Man and Woman Arguing in Vehicle at the Time of Crash

Police said the two were in the vehicle and having an argument when the crash happened. Bennet was prohibited from having contact with Payeur as part of his bail conditions.
