Parker was representing the Presque Isle Elks, Lodge #1954.  He had previously won foul shooting contests at his school level, the local level, which included winners from other schools in this area, and the District level, which included winners from the seven Elks Lodges comprising the Northern District.

In order to win the State title, Parker drained 24 foul shots out of 25 attempts, a 96% success rate, which was the highest score for all age groups in the contest.  For his success, Parker was awarded the Amos A. McCallum Outstanding Boy Shooter Award.   Parker will now move on to the Elks New England Regional Hoop Shoot contest to be held in South Portland, Maine, on March 26, 27, and 28, 2015.  Parker and his parents will be guests of the New England Elks for that event.

In addition to Parker, three other youths representing the Presque Isle Lodge had won at the District level in order to advance to the State contest.  They were Kassidy Blackstone, daughter of Rob and Spring Blackstone of Washburn; Faith Sjoberg, daughter of Kevin and Susan Sjoberg of Presque Isle; and Colby Burlock, son of Corey and Anita Burlock, of Mars Hill. Each of these three placed second in the State-wide contest.
