An event like the 2014 Youth/Junior Biathlon World Championships at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle is no small task to pull off. In addition to the generous support of all of the sponsors, over 400 volunteers are helping to make this event run smoothly.

From the people standing in the cold parking lot directing traffic, to those greeting you at the site when you exit the transport bus, to the volunteers helping with the athletes and coaches, it is apparent that this event could not have been the success it has been so far without the volunteers.

These are not only people who love the sport of Biathlon, these are people who are giving of their free time because they’re proud of where they come from and want to support the area in any way they can. If you happen to make out to the Nordic Hertiage Center in Presque Isle during Biathlon this coming week, be sure to thank the people wearing the red and white coats for their contribution.
