Do you ever feel like kicking back and watching some classic music videos on YouTube, only to realize the quality is absolutely terrible? We have some good news - Universal Music Group is working with YouTube to remaster legendary rock and metal music videos by artists like Megadeth, KISS, Nirvana and more.

As of today (June 19), both the audio and video quality of more than 100 videos have been remastered on YouTube. By 2020, that number is expected to be 1,000. Some of the titles include "Holy Wars...the Punishment Due" and "In My Darkest Hour" by Megadeth, "Rock & Roll All Nite" and "I Was Made for Lovin' You" by KISS, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana and more. Other iconic rock artists include Billy Idol and Tom Petty.

The new video quality will be maximized for any device, regardless of which they are being viewed on. The updated versions will simply replace the already-existing ones, retaining the number of views and likes they've already accumulated. The URL will be the same as well.

"It's our goal to ensure that today's music videos - true works of art - meet the high quality standards that artists' works deserve and today's music fans expect," says Global Head of Label Relations at YouTube, Stephen Bryan.
