
Two People Arrested and Charged with Drug Trafficking in Maine
A 34-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were arrested Wednesday and charged with Drug Trafficking in Winthrop.
Man and Woman Arrested and Charged
Officials arrested Stephen Lee Smith and Katelynn Dubois and charged them each with two counts of Aggravated Drug Trafficking.
Drug Trafficking Investigation
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Winthrop Police Department have been jointly investigating drug trafficking in the area.
Three Search Warrants Executed
Three search warrants were executed on June 18 for a Winthrop motel and storage unit and a second storage unit in Gardiner.
Drugs seized at Motel and Storage Unit
Agents seized 116 grams of Fentanyl and 158 grams of cocaine at the motel. Also seized at the Winthrop storage unit was 143 grams of cocaine and $6,980 in suspected drug proceeds. No drugs were found in the Gardiner storage unit.
Street Value
The estimated street value of the fentanyl was $14,500 and the cocaine was $30,000.
Taken to County Jail
Dubois and Smith were both transported to the Kennebunk County Jail.
