
Two Aroostook County Men Charged After Theft from Potato Farm
Two Aroostook County men were arrested and are facing theft charges after a lengthy investigation involving the theft of potatoes in the St. John Valley.
According to State Police, on July 31st, the Cyr Potato Corporation reported to the Mane State Police that they believed employees had been taking potatoes and selling them to local businesses and residents in the St. John Valley. Cyr Potato Corp. believed this may have been happening over the past 4 ½ years.
A lengthy investigation led to approximately $45,000 worth of sales of stolen potatoes. State Police charged the two employees with Class B Theft charges.
Charged were 61-year-old Lloyd Voisine of St. Agatha and 69-year-old Paul Gervais of Frenchville.
Both men were summonsed to court on November 2nd, 2015 in Fort Kent District Court then released.
