
Three People Seriously Injured after Head-On Crash in Maine
Three people were seriously injured Monday morning after a two-vehicle crash on the South Caribou Road in Fort Fairfield.
Head-On Collision Involving Pickup and Cargo Truck
A Dodge Ram truck and a cargo box truck collided head-on around 10 am. The Dodge had significant damage to the front end and the cargo truck was off the road in a ditch when police arrived on the scene.
Two Men Seriously Injured after Crash
A 57-year-old man, Theodore St. Peter from Fort Fairfield, had life threatening injuries and 25-year-old Cameron Doody from Woodland had non-life-threatening injuries.
Third Person Taken to Hospital with Injuries
They were both transported to Cary Medical Center by ambulance. A passenger in the box truck was also seriously injured and taken to Cary Medical Center by a private vehicle.
Driver Lost Control of Truck and Two Vehicle Collided Head-On
Fort Fairfield Chief of Police Mathew Cummings said St. Peter had just left his residence when he accelerated and lost control of his pickup, crossed the center line and hit the oncoming cargo truck driven by Doody head-on.
Injured Were Not Wearing Seatbelts and Crash Investigation
None of those involved in the crash were wearing seatbelts. The crash is under investigation and the scene was being re-constructed.
First Responders on the Scene
First Responders included the Fort Fairfield Police Department, Presque Isle Police Department, the Maine Warden Service, U.S. Border Patrol and Caribou & Presque Isle Ambulances.
