Storm Could Dump Up to 18 Inches of Snow on Northern Maine & Western New Brunswick

Ready or not, another significant snow storm is on its way to Northern Maine and Western New Brunswick just in time for the weekend.

The National Weather Service Office in Caribou says that this weekend’s storm could produce between 12 and 18 inches of additional snow accumulation.

A low pressure system is approaching from the West early this morning and will re-develop in the gulf of Maine today and intensify tonight. The low will slowly move into the Canadian Maritimes Saturday.

Heavy snow is expected this afternoon through Saturday morning. Strong wind will develop late tonight through Saturday evening and will cause significant blowing and drifting snow.

Bitterly cold weather will follow in the wake of the storm for Sunday and Monday.
