Steel Panther Dig Up Motley Crue 'Backstabbing' Vince Neil

Nikki Sixx may have taken exception to Steel Panther's recent jokes about Vince Neil, but after Steel Panther were called out by the bassist as "backstabbers" for their shots at Neil, the group uncovered unfortunate video of Crue members taking their own shots at the singer.

The whole thing began when Steel Panther's Michael Starr was asked in an interview with Little Punk People who he'd bring back from the dead. He joked that he would bring back Vince Neil, who is still alive, explaining, "Vince Neil from back in the day, because that guy is dead."

That prompted Sixx to go on social media saying that Steel Panther was a "wannabe" band, telling Starr to go fuck himself and later adding that they were "assholes" and "backstabbers."

Responding to Sixx, Steel Panther drummer Stix Zadinia tweeted, "Sounds like someone needs some fucking attention. Haha," and later added, "In order to stab someone in the back, you have to be somewhat cordial to begin with."

Then, on Saturday, Steel Panther's social media unearthed footage of Motley Crue's members talking trash about Neil in an old MTV interview. Looking at the footage, it appears to have taken place during the period when Neil was no longer in the band, with Sixx and Mick Mars taking their shots at Neil's weight after learning of the singer's jet ski accident in which Neil suffered broken ribs.

The band titled the tweet, "Hey Siri, 'What's backstabbing?' with the setup being the voice assistance supposedly uncovering the old Crue interview.

The Panther and Crue beef dates back to 2011 when the two groups toured together alongside Def Leppard. Starr has said that Crue hated Steel Panther and that the two sides had butted heads.

Steel Panther's new album, Heavy Metal Rules, was released earlier this year and the group is on tour through the end of the year. See their upcoming tour dates below.
