A 38-year-old man was sentenced to over 7 years in prison for drug trafficking and money laundering in Maine.
Sentenced to 87 Months
Jeremy Kane from Ellsworth was given 87 months or 7 years and three months behind bars. Kane pleaded guilty on February 12, 2025.

He was charged with conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances and conspiring to commit money laundering.
Drug Trafficking Conspiracy
Court records said Kane “conspired to traffic methamphetamine in Maine” between May 2022 and May 2023.
Meth Shipped to Maine from California
“A source in California would mail shipments of methamphetamine to Maine for distribution in Downeast Maine,” said the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Money Laundering
The money was then sent to money services like Walmart2Walmart, Cash App, and Venmo as part of the money laundering.

The case was investigated by the FBI, U.S. Postal Service, Ellsworth Police Department, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Holden Police Department, and Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
