Pump Prices Still Climbing Around New England
The price of gasoline continues its upward climb in New England.
The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded in Maine went up 6.4 cents in the last week, to $2.49 a gallon. In Presque Isle, the price at the pump at most stations rose 13 cents in the past week to $2.72 a gallon, as of Tuesday morning.
New Hampshire saw its gas prices climb 7.3 cents a gallon to an average price of $2.42. Vermont pump prices went up 5.3 cents over last week, to an average $2.50 a gallon.
The national average, meanwhile, climbed up 20.6 cents a gallon from a month ago and is just under a penny a gallon from where it was a year ago at this time.
