O’brien – The Thanksgiving Feeling

What am I looking forward to this Thanksgiving?  It may not be what you think.  There is of course the typical spread of yummy food and pies, seeing family I haven’t seen in a while and chasing kids through the house. 

What I’m most looking forward to is a feeling.  The feeling I get when my entire family is together and the conversations that come with that.  We end up switching between football and the “Christmas Story” marathon on television and deciding what grownup is going to have to sit at the kids table. 

There is so much negativity in the world today.  Historically, Thanksgiving may understandably be a “black eye” to some people, but I choose to see it as quality time with the ones I love, catching up on their lives and actually giving thanks to God that we can spend it together.
