Man Charged with Murder after 17-Year-Old Shot to Death in Maine
A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with Murder after the shooting death of a 17-year-old in Lewiston.
Man Charged after Body Found Dead on the Street
Nasib Aden was charged with shooting Sahal Muridi on July 14, 2024 on Rideout Avenue. Police found Muridi dead on the ground around 10:30 pm.
Cause of Death from Gunshot
His cause of death was a “gunshot wound to the head and neck, and the manner of death was homicide,” said the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Murder Investigation
The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit investigated the case and determined Aden was the suspect.
Arrested as a Fugitive by the FBI
Aden was indicted by an Androscoggin County Grand Jury on May 6, 2025. He was apprehended by the FBI on June 11 in Minnesota.
Extricated to Maine
He was extricated back to Maine and pleaded not guilty in court on June 27. He was being held at the Androscoggin County Jail.
