Mookie Magic – Betts Goes 3-5 with a 2-run Homer as Dodgers Beat Red Sox 7-4
Mookie Betts went 3-5 with a 2-run home run, driving in 3 runs on Sunday. The problem was he did it for the Los Angeles Dodgers and they beat the Boston Red Sox 7-4 on Sunday afternoon at Fenway.
Betts, now the owner of a 15-game hitting streak went 7-15 against the Boston Red Sox over the weekend. He had 2 doubles, a homer, scored 5 runs and drove in 4 runs.
Sean McDonough, said on the Red Sox broadcast yesterday "It's a trade that can never be defended and a stain that will never be erased, the trade of Mookie Betts by the Red Sox." And he was right!
Boston hit back-to-back homers in the 8th inning, to make the score close.
1st Justin Turner hit a homer. He finished 1-2. The homer was his 22nd of the season.
That was followed by Adam Duvall's homer. He was 2-4 with a double to go with the home run, his 17th of the season.
Tristan Casas also went deep, hitting a 2-run homer in the 6th inning, to put Boston on the scoreboard. That was his 21st homer of the season.
Tanner Houck started for Boston. He went 4.0 innings, allowing 5 hits and 1 run. He struck out 4 and walked 2.
Chris Murphy, went 4.0 innings allowing 9 hits and 6 runs. He struck out 4.
Mauricio Llovera pitched the 9th inning, striking out 1.
