Midnight Oil's "Great Circle" tour will spin on a little while longer in the United States.

Citing a "desire to frustrate scalpers" on their Facebook page, the band has added four U.S. dates to its itinerary, including extra stops in New York and Los Angeles. Admitting it's "unusual" to double up in cities "before the first gigs have even happened" on a tour, the group's announcement adds, "Rather than paying inflated prices via resellers to attend the imminent May shows, fans now have the option of buying normal tickets to attend these summer dates."

Tickets for the newly announced concerts are set to go on sale to the general public at 10AM local time on May 12, while members of the Midnight Oil mailing list will have access to a special fan-only presale starting at 10AM local time on May 9. Complete public ticketing information is available at the band's official site.

As previously reported, the band's 2017 world tour is scheduled to fill the calendar for much of the year, running from April to November — and bookended with a pair of shows in their hometown. "It’s been too long but over the next few months we want to make up for some lost time," Midnight Oil's members explained in the Great Circle press release. "Hopefully we can share some of it with you."
