Man and Woman Arrested & Charged with Drug Trafficking in Maine

A 33-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were arrested early Saturday morning and charged with Drug Trafficking in Auburn.

Search Warrant Executed at Motel in the Early Morning

The Auburn Police Department executed a search warrant at the Quality Inn on Washington Street around 3:05 am.

Drugs and Proceeds Seized During Search

Officers seized approximately 15 grams of cocaine, fentanyl pills and more than $5,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

Warrant Stemmed from Traffic Stop Related to Drug Trafficking

“The warrant was executed following a traffic stop conducted by Auburn officers earlier that evening where information was obtained referencing interstate drug trafficking” according to Auburn PD.

Man Charged with Unlawful Drug Trafficking of Cocaine and Fentanyl

Police arrested Mantrell Tidwell and charged him with Unlawful Drug Trafficking of Cocaine, Unlawful Drug Trafficking of Fentanyl and Falsifying Physical Evidence. Tidwell’s bail was set at $10,000.

Woman Charged with Unlawful Drug Trafficking of Cocaine and Fentanyl

Also arrested was Anita Tanis from Lewiston who was charged with Unlawful Drug Trafficking of Cocaine and Unlawful Drug Trafficking of Fentanyl. Her bail was set at $7,500.

Drugs Transported to Maine from Connecticut for Trafficking

“The investigation indicates that the seized contraband was transported from Connecticut for distribution in the Lewiston/Auburn area,” said the Auburn Police Department.

K-9 Team and Sheriff’s Office Assisted in Executing Search Warrant

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit assisted with the execution of the search warrant. The investigation is ongoing.
