Man Wanted In Connection With An Assault In Bangor’s ‘Camp Hope’ Found
A 22-year-old Enfield man was arrested on Wednesday night in connection with an assault police say at a popular camp of unhoused folks in Bangor.
Sergeant Jason McAmbley, Public Information Officer for the Bangor Police Department, says they have been looking for Christopher Campbell for the better part of a week. Campbell was wanted for his involvement in a brutal fight that broke out at the camp last weekend.
"The Bangor Police Department had been seeking Campbell since Saturday, August 24th, after it was reported Campbell had assaulted another person with a weapon while both were at Camp Hope, fracturing multiple bones in the victim’s face, on Friday, August 23rd."
"Campbell was located in a tent at the site, taken into custody, and transported to the
Penobscot County Jail, charged with; Aggravated Assault, Class B Unlawful Possession of Schedule Drugs, Class E Probation Violation."
Authorities are still looking for information related to the incident. They are asking anyone who knows anything about what happened to come forward.
