
Man Trapped Under Train and Seriously Injured in Maine
A man was seriously injured Thursday morning after he was trapped under a train in Lewiston.
Man Stuck Beneath Train was Extricated and Taken to the Hospital
He was extricated from beneath a railroad car and transported to Central Maine Medical Center for treatment.
Pedestrian had Serious and Non-Life Threatening Injuries
The Lewiston Police Department said his injuries were serious and non-life threatening. His name and age were not released.

Train was Heading Southbound When the Man was Hit and Trapped
The incident happened around 10:42 am in the area of Whipple Street as the train was going southbound toward Auburn.
Train was Blocking Traffic and Motorists Rerouted
The train stopped and was blocking traffic on Libby Avenue and Strawberry Avenue.

Railroad Authority is Leading the Investigation into the Collision
Lead investigators in the case are the Railroad Authority.

Multiple Agencies Responded to the Scene and Provided First Aid
First responders at the scene included the Lewiston Police Department, the Lewiston Fire Department and United Ambulance Service.
