Man Arrested for Trafficking & Flushing Drugs in Toilet in Maine
A 21-year-old man was arrested for aggravated drug trafficking and flushing bags of fentanyl down the toilet in Waterville.
Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking after Investigation
Omar Sims Marquez from Waterville was charged with Unlawful Aggravated Drug Trafficking, Unlawful Drug Trafficking and Falsifying Physical Evidence.
Search Warrant Executed
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Waterville Police have been investigating the case for three months and a search warrant was executed Thursday at 18 Edwards Street.
Suspect Tried to Flush Baggies Down Toilet
The MDEA said when law enforcement entered the residence, Marquez tried to flee from a bathroom. “Agents heard the bathroom toilet had been flushed and discovered the toilet to be clogged by several plastic baggies that Marquez attempted to destroy.”
Drugs and Cash Seized
Agents and Officers seized 35 grams of fentanyl and crack, evidence of illegal drug trafficking and $3,600 in suspected drug proceeds.
Bail Set at $240,000
Marquez was transported to the Kennebec County Jail with cash bail set at $240,000.
