Maine is a beautiful state with so much unique charm, but sometimes we take it for granted.

From Northern Maine to Southern Maine

There’s northern Maine with vast farm fields and rural communities as well as coastal Maine with bigger cities and an ocean view.

Love the Variety

Locals appreciate the variety and take it all in. But sometimes we take for granted how much we love everything there is to offer.

Maine is a big place with nature everywhere. Sometimes we lose sight of the beauty. The fields in Aroostook County stretch across the horizon and grow the best potatoes and agriculture anywhere. The forests and mountains in mid-state and the ocean in southern Maine are part of its wonders too.

Winter

Winter can be hard in Maine, but it’s something to behold and not take for granted. Mainers grumble about the long, cold winter, but also enjoy it. Snowmobiling, skiing, skating and other outdoor activities are something locals love.

Maine happens to be in the exact right spot to see the Northern Lights. Getting out to see the display takes a little effort. Many people miss out on the natural phenomenon and take it for granted.

The best potatoes in the world are grown right here. It’s easy to not think about how prosperous farming is in the community. People are reminded how good we have it when you eat the best baked potato or fries you ever had.

Lobsters

Maine is known world-wide for lobsters. We can buy the crustaceans at a low price right off the boat or have them shipped. It becomes a matter-of-fact. But we also know how to throw a huge lobster bake and really appreciate the food. Sometimes that’s forgotten.

Rural Maine

The small town vibe in the state is one of the most appealing. We don’t have the level of crime and danger bigger states have. Communities are close and look out for each other. It can be remote and feel like there’s nothing to do, but that’s where we find comfort in our privacy and freedom.

The Views

Maine has it all - a coast line, forests, mountains, four seasons and incredible views. Sometimes we go right by without stooping to take a look. It’s all around us. We have the vast landscape of fields and woods in Aroostook County and the breathtaking views of the ocean in southern Maine.

Fairs and Fall

Fall in Maine is the best. The leaves change and the air gets crisp. The fairs happen around this time and we are reminded how much the state offers. Food, friends, rides, music bring everyone together to celebrate the state.

Take Time to Appreciate Maine

These are some of the things we take for granted in Maine. We sometimes forget how great it is here, but then get reminded when we take time to appreciate it all. That’s what it is, taking time for the small things in life.
