Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to numerous calls for service in and around Aroostook County this past week. Here are the incidents included in their weekly report:

Date:   3/09/2019    Town: FRENCHVILLE  Brief Synopsis:  Trooper Kilcollins responded to US Rt. 1 in Frenchville for a report of a two-vehicle crash.  Upon Tr. Kilcollins’ arrival he observed that a Tractor Trailer unit was pulling out of a private drive on to Rt. 1 on a corner.  A vehicle traveling south struck the rear of the TT unit’s trailer.  Tr. Kilcollins arrested the operator of the southbound vehicle for OUI.

Date:  3/12/2019   Town: PRESQUE ISLE  Brief Synopsis:  Tr. Levesque was traveling through Presque Isle and observed what he believed to be a fake inspection sticker.  Tr. Leveque made a traffic stop at a local automotive parts business and confirmed that the sticker was in fact not real.  Tr. Levesque issued a summons for displaying a fictitious inspection sticker.

Date:  3/13/2019   Town:  PRESQUE ISLE  Brief Synopsis:  Tr. Levesque was conducting traffic enforcement in the town of Presque Isle and stopped a vehicle for its operation.  Tr. Levesque arrested the operator for operating under the influence.  Tr. Levesque arrested the 72-year-old operator and had the vehicle towed.

Date:  3/13/2019    Town:   FORT KENT  Brief Synopsis:  Tr. Desrosier was called by the Fort Kent Police Dept. requesting a Drug Recognition Expert for a OUI stop.  Tr. Desrosier confirmed that the operator was impaired by drugs. Fort Kent PD placed the man under arrest for OUI.

Date:   3/14/2019    Town:     FRENCHVILLE  Brief Synopsis:  Tr. Desrosier was conducting traffic enforcement in the town of Frenchville and stopped a vehicle for speed.  Tr. Desrosier learned that the operator’s license was under suspension.  Tr. Desrosier summoned the operator for operating after suspension and had the driver call for a licensed driver to remove the vehicle.

Date:   3/14/2019    Town:  MONTICELLO  Brief Synopsis:   Tr. Kilcollins was conducting traffic enforcement in the town of Monticello.  Tr. Kilcollins stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.  Tr. Kilcollins learned that the vehicle’s registration did not match the vehicle and the inspection sticker looked fraudulent.  Upon further investigation, Tr. Kilcollins summonsed the operator for illegal attachment of registration plates and displaying a fictitious inspection sticker.

Date:  3/14/2019    Town:     MONTICELLO  Brief Synopsis:   Cpl. Quint was conducting traffic enforcement in the town of Monticello and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle.  Cpl. Quint recognized a female passenger in the vehicle who refused to show any identification.  Cpl. Quint suspected the female to have an active arrest warrant.  Cpl. Quint confirmed the woman’s identity and placed her under arrest.

Date:  3/15/2019  Town:   MAPLETON  Brief Synopsis:  Tr. Levesque responded to a residence in Mapleton for a report of a man who was knocking on the doors and windows of a residence and appeared to be trying to gain entry into the residence.  Tr. Levesque responded and learned that a window screen was damaged by the man who was knocking on the windows.  Tr. Levesque got a description of the man and checked the area for him.  Tr. Levesque located and summonsed the man for criminal mischief.

Date: 3/17/2019  Town:  SHERMAN  Brief Synopsis:  Houlton RCC received a report of a single-vehicle crash at Mile Marker 270 Southbound in the town of Sherman. Troopers coming back from the Tact Team call in Presque Isle were the first on scene. Tr. Nelson and Tr. D’Angelo arrived and the male that was later determined was the operator and the female passenger were giving them false names. After being warned the female told the Troopers what her name was and what the males name was. The male had one active warrant for his arrest and was also suspended. Tr Adams responded and the male was arrested on the warrant and issued a summons for giving a false name and OAS. The female was issued a summons for Theft on behalf of the Fort Fairfield Police Department for stealing Items form the Dollar General in the days prior to the crash.

Date:    3/12/2019  Town:  PERHAM  Brief Synopsis:   Tr. Curtin spoke with a Caribou man who reported that his wallet had been stolen while on a logging road in the Perham area.  The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Date:    3/16/2019   Town:   WOODLAND  Brief Synopsis:   Cpl. Michaud met with a homeowner in Woodland when the man reported his property had been broken into.  The investigation revealed that the house had been vacant since December, and when the man returned home, he discovered that a window had been broken and entry had been made into this home.  Assorted items were taken, and the investigation is ongoing.

Date:    3/13/2019  Town:    LUDLOW  Brief Synopsis:   Tr. Casavant stopped a vehicle on the interstate for speeding.  A consent search was conducted on the vehicle and Tr. Casavant located several pills in the operator’s purse.  She claimed to have a prescription for the pills.  Follow-up on the incident is ongoing.

Date:    3/14/201   Town:   PATTEN  Brief Synopsis:    Tr. Saucier took a report of a stolen plow truck in the town of Patten.  The vehicle was parked in the owner’s driveway with the keys in it.  The vehicle was located several days later and the investigation is ongoing.
