Incident Type: Burglary and Theft Date: 4/11/2017 Town: Benedicta Trooper: Tr. Saucier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Saucier began investigating a burglary and theft on the Sweeney Rd in Benedicta. The victim reported that his snowmobile and wood splitter were taken from his garage. During the course of the investigation the victim’s property was returned anonymously and he chose to not pursue charges.

Incident Type: Criminal Traffic Date: 4/11/2017 Town: Oakfield Trooper: Tr. Lilley Brief Synopsis: Tr. Lilley issued a 23-year-old female a criminal summons for operating without a license. Tr. Lilley had observed the woman speeding and had a defective headlight. When he turned to stop the vehicle the woman increased her speed. She was also issued a summons for speeding. Tr. Lilley had her park the vehicle and gave her a ride home.

Incident Type: SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT Date: 4/11/2017 Town: Easton Trooper: Sgt. Clark Brief Synopsis: Sgt. Clark went to Easton High School to speak with students regarding traffic laws, violations, penalties, and other topics in this field. Sgt. Clark also spoke to the high school students about the laws pertaining to search and seizure. Sgt. Clark was well received by the students and the staff at the high school.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 4/12/2017 Town: T7 R5 Trooper: Tr. Desrosier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier stopped a vehicle for displaying an expired inspection certificate. During the stop he found that the 45-year-old male driver had a suspended driver’s license for failing to make required payment of fines and costs. Tr. Desrosier issued the man a traffic summons for the violation and the man had his mother come get him and the vehicle.

Incident Type: Criminal Traffic Date: 4/13/2017 Town: Littleton Trooper: Cpl. Quint Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Quint stopped a vehicle for displaying a suspicious inspection certificate. During the stop it was determined the inspection certificate was a photograph of a sticker and was stuck to the windshield. Cpl. Quint also found the registration plates were illegally attached to the vehicle and it was not insured. The 40-year-old female driver was issued two criminal summonses for displaying a fictitious inspection certificate and for illegal attachment of registration plates. The vehicle was towed from the roadway.

Incident Type: DRUGS Date: 4/15/2017 Town: Washburn Trooper: Sgt. Clark Brief Synopsis: A man called the State Police after finding a bottle in the ditch that he suspects has some type of drug residue. Sgt. Clark responded and determined the bottle was used as a shake-and-bake method to manufacture methamphetamines. Sgt. Clark was able to determine that it was no longer active and requested an MDEA Agent and Maine Department of Environmental Protection come to properly dispose of the bottle.

Incident Type: ACCIDENT Date: 4/15/2017 Town: New Sweden Trooper: Tr. Levesque Brief Synopsis: Tr. Levesque investigated a crash in New Sweden. The incident was reported by a resident and mentioned that the driver could possibly be intoxicated. The 73-year-old driver left the scene before Tr. Levesque could arrive. Tr. Levesque conducted an investigation and eventually located the man; he was summonsed for failing to report the crash and for leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
