Founded in Quincy, Massachusetts, more than 70 years ago, Dunkin' went from one small location to more than 2,500 locations globally.

Which means Dunkin' is popular and people who visit the chain have a favorite order and menu item.

And the choice for Maine shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

Iced Coffee is the Most Popular Dunkin' Menu Item in Maine

A recent study was done by the law firm of Murphy & Prachthauser which used Google trends to determine the most popular Dunkin' menu item in every state.

To the surprise of no one, iced coffee reigned supreme in Maine as the clear top choice amongst regular Dunkin' customers in Vacationland.

What may come as a surprise is that Maine is the only state in the entire country that chooses iced coffee as its top choice.

Using the findings in the study, iced coffee isn't even amongst the top 5 most popular Dunkin' menu items.

The Pumpkin Spiced Latte is the Top Dunkin' Menu Item Overall

While people throughout Maine and the northeast take fall and fall-themed items for granted, people in the south as well as western part of the country do not.

The Dunkin' Pumpkin Spiced Latte was the top menu item in 8 different states across the nation. The standard Dunkin' Latte was the top choice in 7 different states.

Perhaps the strangest result? Massachusetts, the birthplace of Dunkin', chose the Matcha Latte as its top menu item.
