A body found near Lincolnville Beach earlier this month has been identified as a man who had been missing for several weeks.

The Deceased Has Been Missing Since Mid-May

Officials say the deceased has been identified as Jonah Farley, 30, of Union. Farley was reported missing to the Knox County Sheriff's Office on May 18, 2024.

Farley's Family Had Taken to Social Media to Ask For Help Locating Him

A search was underway looking for the man who reportedly had no money or cellphone when he went missing. Family members reported on social media that he had been driving a tan GMC 1500 pickup truck.

Passersby Found the Deceased, Who Had Washed Up on Shore in Lincolnville

On June 3rd, a body was found near Lincolnville Beach by passersby, who reported the discovery to the Waldo County Regional Communications Center. It appeared the body had washed up on the shoreline. The deceased was transported to the Chief Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. The PenBay Pilot reports the body was confirmed to be Farley. His cause of death has not been released.
