According to the Brewer Police Department Facebook Page, it was just after midnight when Officer Chris Woodman noticed a man laying down in the bushes nearby. When Woodman's flashlight crossed over the person, the man got up and ran away. As the Officer pursued the man to a locked gate in Veteran's Park, two other members of the Brewer PD arrived to assist with the situation. As the man kept running, one of the officers noticed something drop from the man's pocket.

"Officer Woodman observed objects falling out of the man’s pocket and believed they were illegal drugs. A search of the man’s person and backpack revealed he was in possession of two containers with fentanyl inside and two balloons containing more than 100 methadone pills."

"Lawrence Cyr (47 of Bangor) two counts of Unlawful Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs and Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention."
If that wasn't bad enough, because of Waterfront Park's designation as a "Drug Free Safe Zone" Cyr now faces Class A felony charges.
