There’s nothing quite as much fun as a perfectly conceived and executed supercut. Whether it’s a compilation of movie scenes where Nic Cage loses his mind or a movie dialogue version of one of Lionel Richie’s classic songs, a good supercut is the perfect piece of digital ephemera for movie lovers everywhere. And while most supercuts are fan-made labors of love, at least one studio has noticed the attention given to them and planned its marketing accordingly. So it was that the John Wick ‘Symphony of Violence’ supercut was given unto us, and it was very, very good.

Not content to let fans do it for them, Lionsgate decided to cut together all of the best action sequences from the first John Wick movie, using Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s bombastic ‘Overture of 1812’ as its rousing fight song. This is a sort of a funny pick if you think bout it; Tchaikovsky’s song was originally intended to celebrate Russia’s defense against foreign invaders, but in the first John Wick movie, Keanu Reeves’ character murders his way almost entirely through a series of Russian properties without so much as a hitch in his step.

But I digress, and anyways, who needs thematic continuity when you have gunshots serving as percussion? We’ve known for a while now that John Wick has made an immeasurable contribution to the art of shooting people in the head in movies, but this supercut really brings out the musicality of it all. Perfect for those of you who would rather be watching John Wick than doing literally anything else with your day but don’t have the time to devote to the full movie.

And if you’re just about ready for a brand new round of headshots, here’s the full plot synopsis for the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 2:

In this next chapter following the 2014 hit, legendary hitman John Wick is forced back out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rome where he squares off against some of the world’s deadliest killers.

John Wick: Chapter 2 will (bang! bang!) make its way into theaters on February 10, 2017.
