Mainers come in all shapes, sizes, and life experiences, but one thing we can all relate to is that we all just LOVE to talk about the weather.

We love to complain about it. We love to write about how hot we are in August but complain through the long and brutal winters.

We love the old saying, "If you don't like the weather in Maine, just wait a minute!"

We like to predict the weather by looking at the sky. We were all taught by our grandparents, "Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky in morning, sailors take warning."

Several years ago well-known comedian Jim Gaffigan was in Bangor.

In February.

And if you're like me, upon hearing that you're probably thinking, "February?! But why?! He should come in the summer?"

Well, that is more than a predictable response. So much so that Jim Gaffigan himself called us all out on it in his Amazon Prime special, Quality Time with Jim Gaffigan. The special came out back in 2019 but Gaffigan recently uploaded it to his TikTok account where it now has over 3 million views, which appears to be the highest viewed TikTok on his account. See the full special here and the clip below:

Jim Gaffigan isn't the only comedian with observations about the weather in Maine. Maine's "King of Comedy" Bob Marley has shared his observations about how we deal with the weather up here more than once. One of my personal favorites that I think about every year (when walking to my car in the dead of January) comes from the Upta Camp album.

Two of Maine's largest regions don't necessarily have the largest populations. However, that hasn't stopped the areas from opening killer craft breweries, and taking advantage of the local and tourist dollar.

Here is a list of the breweries you can find in Aroostook County and Downeast Maine.
