A 43-year-old woman was charged with Operating Under the Influence after multiple people were injured in a crash in Hancock on Sunday morning.

Woman Charged with OUI and Operating after Revocation

Amy Richards from Ellsworth was also charged with Operating after Revocation.

Five People in One Vehicle Injured and Transported to the Hospital

A 35-year-old woman, Katrina Springer of Ellsworth, and her four passengers were injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police said the injuries were non-life threatening.

Morning Collision with Injuries

The crash happened around 8:49 am at the intersection of Washington Junction Road and Polar Lane.

Two-Vehicle Crash at Intersection

Springer “took a left hand turn from Poplar Lane onto the Washington Junction Road and crashed into a Jeep” driven by Richards, according to Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.

Road Temporarily Closed and Investigation

The road in the area was temporarily closed as the crash is under investigation.

First Responders Assisting at the Crash

Responding to the accident was the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Hancock Fire Department, the Sullivan Fire Department and DC Towing.
