A Hodgdon man escaped injury after his truck skidded off a snow covered road in Southern Aroostook County early Sunday and struck a utility pole.

The crash happened at approximately 1:40 a.m. on the Calais Road in Hodgdon, according to Sgt. Brian Harris of the Maine State Police.

Sgt. Harris said that 19-year-old Isac Quint of Hodgdon was traveling south in a 2006 Chevrolet pickup when he lost control, skidded off the road and struck a utility pole.  The impact broke the pole, disrupting power to the area.  Quint was not injured.  His pickup was totaled in the crash.

State Trooper Carman Lilley responded to the accident.  Crews from Houlton Water Company were also dispatched to the area along Route 1 to replace the damaged pole.
