Geoff Tate’s Operation: Mindcrime Unveil New Song ‘The Fight’
Former Queensryche singer Geoff Tate's band Operation: Mindcrime will release their latest album Resurrection on Sept. 23. After earlier unveiling the track "Left For Dead" that you can check out below, they have now unleashed "The Fight" that you can listen to in the player above.
As you can hear, the song is a more somber track, allowing Tate to accentuate the emotion of his vocals as the cut rolls out over some delicate guitar playing and a steady beat. "The Fight" is the album opener for the Resurrection disc.
Tate says, "The album Resurrection is the second part of our three album presentation or trilogy. It continues the story that began on the first album The Key with the near death experience of the lead character known as 'H' and his subsequent recovery of the missing encryption key. With the Key finally in his possession, 'H' has everything he needs to finally launch his long awaited project called 'The New Reality'. Or does he..."
The album features an all-star cast of guest musicians including bassists David Ellefson (Megadeth) and John Moyer (Disturbed), drummer Simon Wright (Dio,AC/DC) and vocalists Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens (Judas Priest, Iced Earth) and Blaze Bayley (Iron Maiden). You can pre-order the disc via Amazon or iTunes.
The only event currently on Operation: Mindcrime's calendar is a record release party Sept. 24 in Eichstetten, Germany. It will feature a live acoustic set from Tate and friends and an open jam session. For more details, go here.
