
Gas Prices Still Headed Down in Northern New England
Gas prices around New England continued their downward trend.
According to the daily survey by GasBuddy.com, the average retail price at gas outlets around Maine fell 4.8 cents a gallon in the past week to an average of $2.83 a gallon. In Presque Isle, most outlets were showing a price of $2.92 a gallon Monday morning.
Prices at the pump in New Hampshire went down 2.9 cents to an average of $2.81 a gallon. Vermont saw its average price per gallon fall 1.5 cents to $2.90 a gallon.
The national average price for gas decreased 14.1 cents a gallon in the past month to $2.83 a gallon currently. That's 58.1 cents higher than at this time last year.
