According to Chief Deputy Darrell Crandall of the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department, deputies received a report that a 1999 Dodge truck was stolen from a residence in New Canada around 5 p.m.Thursday.

As police were searching for the vehicle, they received a report that the driver had stopped in a driveway in St. John Plantation, exposed himself to a female, and then drove off.

Crandall said that deputies located the stolen truck parked in the driveway of another home in St. John Plantation around 5:40 p.m. Deputies arrested 30-year-old Troy Theriault of Fort Kent and charged him with OUI, theft and indecent conduct.

Theriault was taken to the Caribou Police Department where he later posted bail. If convicted of the felony theft offense, he faces up to five years in prison.

Police say there was no damage to the truck, and it has been returned to the owner.
