A family escaped from a vehicle Sunday after crashing into a pond on Alfred Road in Lyman.

Family Escaped Vehicle after Crash into Pond

The family was “able to safely exit the vehicle prior to the arrival of Fire and EMS units,” according to the Goodwin Mills Fire-Rescue.

Family Kept Warm by Local Residents and Bystanders

Local residents and bystanders helped the family and kept them warm until first responders arrived on the scene.

Nine First Responders Respond to the Scene

“At the time of the dispatch, the on-duty crew was committed to another incident,” said the Goodwin Mills Fire-Rescue. Nine first responders were on the scene.

Vehicle Secured and Removed from the Water

The vehicle was secured and removed from the water by a local tow company and fire crews.

Vehicle Crashed into Pond and No Injuries Reported

The family vehicle crashed into the pond around 2:40 pm. No injuries were reported.

Investigation is Ongoing Following Crash

Additional information about the family was not released. The investigation is ongoing.
