Driver Died in Truck Fire after Crash in Maine
One person died in a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning after a truck caught fire and another truck rolled over in Richmond.
One Man Died in a Truck Fire after Crash
The crash happened on Route 201 near Thorofare Road around 6:01 am.
Two Trucks Involved in Fiery Crash
When first responders arrived on the scene, “the roadway was blocked by a pickup truck turned on its side and another pickup truck in the ditch fully engulfed in flames,” said the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office.
Man in Burning Vehicle
Firefighters with the Richmond Fire Department “immediately began working to extinguish the fire” and determined the driver was still in the Chevy Silverado.
Sheriff said Driver “Perished in the Fire”
“The operator of that vehicle perished in the fire,” said Sheriff Joel A. Merry. Name and age were not released.
One Driver Injured
The driver of the overturned Ford F-250 was 58-year-old William Miller IV from Richmond. He had minor injuries.
Truck Crossed the Centerline before Crash
The Sheriff said the “Chevrolet Silverado was traveling north on Rt. 201, crossed over the center line and into the path of the 2003 Ford F-250 which attempted to evade the collision.”
