A 61-year-old man was injured after a two-vehicle, rear-end crash on I-95 in Cumberland.
DOT Worker Injured after Rear-End Crash on I-95
The driver injured was Robert Brown from Poland, a Maine Turnpike Authority maintenance employee.
Man Injured and Taken to the Hospital
He was transported to Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Driver May Have Fallen Asleep Before Collision with Maintenance Truck
The other driver, 26-year-old Eric Sullivan of Lewiston, “may have fallen asleep while traveling in the right lane, veered into the breakdown lane, and collided with the maintenance vehicle,” said the Maine Department of Public Safety. He was not injured.
Two-Vehicle Crash on I-95
The crash happened around 9:07 am Friday in Cumberland.

DOT Worker was Cleaning Up Debris on Interstate
Brown had just finished debris cleanup on I-95 when he was rear-ended by Sullivan’s Toyota Corolla.
Both Vehicle Damaged with Truck in the Ditch
Both vehicles had extensive damage. The Toyota had significant front-end damage and the GMC maintenance truck was in the ditch with rear-end damage.

Man Charged with Driver to Endanger
Sullivan was charged with Driving to Endanger and additional motor vehicle violations.

One Lane Closed in the Area for Cleanup and the Investigation is Ongoing
Traffic was down to one lane for close to an hour while the crash site was cleared. The investigation is ongoing.
