County Teen Camp Plans Harvest Supper & Auction
Not only do I have a daughter who attended and benefited from Aroostook Teen Leadership Camp, I’m also a product of this incredible organization. I just realized that sounded like the ‘Hair Club for Men’ slogan, ‘I’m also a member.’
On a serious note, A.T.L.C. represents some of the best years of my life and I’m lucky to have gotten my daughter involved. It’s done wonders for her self-esteem and has helped her make positive choices. I’m sad to say that the future of this week long summer camp has been in jeopardy for a number of years now due to lack of funding.
Miraculously they’ve been able to keep the camp going through fundraisers put on by people who believe and are invested in the magic that comes out of it. One of those events is happening on Saturday, September 21st at the Mapleton Lions Hall at 5:30pm. There will be a 4 course homemade meal and a silent auction to follow with some amazing items up for bid including a snowmobile. Tickets are $25 and are only available in advance.
