Rookie Michael Chavis ripped a walk-off 10th inning single as the Red Sox beat the Colorado Rockies 6-5 Wednesday night at Fenway Park.

It helps to mask the fact that the Sox gave up a 5-0 leader earlier in the game.

The had a 5-0 after three innings with J.D. Martinez driving in three of the them with a home run and single.

Eduardo Rodriguez struck out 10 Rockies with that lead but could not get an out in the 7th inning and by the time the bullpen got three outs the game was tied 5-5.

It stayed that way until the 10th when the Sox rallied for the run.

Brandon Workman got credit for the win, closing out a Rockies rally in the top of the 10th.

The win gets the Sox to 23-20 with a day off today.

Next on the schedule, a weekend series vs the Houston Astros.
