
Man Charged with Domestic Violence and Fled from Police in Maine
A 38-year-old man was arrested Sunday morning and charged with Domestic violence Assault in Bangor.
Man Fled the Scene and was Later Arrested and Charged
Axel-Rodney Brooks from Bangor was taken into custody after he fled the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived on the scene.
Police Were Called for Domestic Assault
Police responded after a call reporting a fight between Brooks and a woman in the home.
Victim Was Injured and Taken to a Local Hospital
The woman was injured and taken to the hospital for medical attention and treatment.

Woman Was Choked and Knocked Unconscious
The Bangor Police Department said Brooks threatened the woman, choked her and she was knocked unconscious.

Friend Visited Victim and was Also Threatened by Man Before Calling Police
A friend of the woman was asked to call the police after visiting the victim. The friend was also threatened by Brooks to not call the police until he fled, according to WGME News.

Facing Multiple Charges Including Domestic Violence Assault and Threatening
Brooks was apprehended later and transported to the Penobscot County Jail. He faces charges for Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault, Domestic Violence Criminal Threatening and Criminal Threatening.
