Bangor Police have arrested two teens suspected of damaging cars and trash cans around the city.

Both Suspects are 18 years old and Live Outside Bangor

Zachary Skidgel, 18, of Plymouth, and Michael Bowden, 18, of Etna were arrested on Tuesday night.

Bangor Police Used Doorbell Cam Videos to Identify the Suspects' Vehicle

Over the weekend, Sergeant Jason McAmbley says Bangor Police received many reports of damaged property. The callers told authorities that their vehicles or trash cans had been damaged. Those reports came from different points around the city.

As part of their investigation, police viewed videos from several doorbell cameras which showed the vehicle the suspects were using. Officers were able to locate the car at around 9:30 Tuesday night and pull it over. At the time, three people were inside, including Skidgel and Bowden.

Officials Say Thousands of Dollars in Damage Was Done to Bangor Vehicles

Police interviewed both suspects who admitted that they had caused damage to between 20 and 30 vehicles around Bangor. They also said they had damaged roughly two dozen garbage cans. Skidgel and Bowden were taken to Penobscot County Jail, charged with class C felony aggravated criminal mischief charges. Bowden was also charged with violation of the conditions of release.

Police say the estimated cost to repair the vehicles is around $3,000.
