Bangor City Officials are showing some class by responding to an act of vandalism with an encouragement of kindness.
Downtown Bangor, Maine, Planters Vandalized, Destroying the Flowers
A post on the Downtown Bangor Facebook page on Thursday showed a beautiful pot of bright pink flowers, and then another picture of those flowers on the ground, ripped out by the roots.
The author of the post expressed disappointment at the loss of the beautiful flowers that someone ripped out by the roots and left strewn on the sidewalk.
Luckily, the City of Bangor Public Works department was quick to bring the planters off the street to be filled with flowers, once again.

But the real positive side to this story is the way the post turned a negative into a motivational example.
The City of Bangor is encouraging people to find something good to do. Volunteer, help an elderly person, pick up litter when no one's looking, or donate to a worthy cause. There are a lot of ways each of us could brighten someone's day through the smallest of gestures.

I love the message. Don't concentrate on the anger or disappointment at the actions of others. Instead, find a way to have a positive influence on someone else's life. It will make you feel awesome too.
