Harris Named New Commander of Troop F of the Maine State Police
A 21-year veteran of the Maine State Police has been promoted to Lieutenant in charge of Troop F in Aroostook County.
Lieutenant Brian Harris of Mars Hill received the promotion Friday from Chief of the State Police, Col. Robert Williams. The ceremony took place at the State Police barracks in Houlton.
Harris has spent his entire career in Troop F, first as a trooper for 16 years and then as a sergeant for the past five. He takes the helm after the departure of John Cote, who was recently promoted to a Major and now serves in Augusta.
Lt. Harris' new role will be the commanding officer of the 18 troopers and three sergeants who are based in Houlton.
