Check Out This Levant Farm’s Fun Fall Twist On The Typical Corn Maze
Here in Maine, we're lucky to have many fun fall activities to choose from during September and October.
From apple and pumpkin picking to hiking, walking or even riding around to check out the foliage, there's a lot to do outdoors as the seasons change.
Many area farms have started to offer corn maze experiences during the fall.
One of the better-known corn mazes in the area happens to be at Treworgy's Family Orchards in Levant.
Each year, the folks on the farm pick a new theme for the maze. The theme for 2024 has been Peter Rabbit.

While trying to find your way through the maze in broad daylight is a fun challenge on a fall afternoon, Treworgy's has been offering visitors a nighttime experience, the last few Octobers, that brings a whole new level of excitement to this challenge.
According to the website, Treworgy’s Night Maze opens just before sunset.
"Times start at 6 pm, and run every 15 minutes until 7:45. Come enjoy the farm all lit up, get special treats at each station in the maze, warm up at our fire & enjoy a fun family-centered event."
The Night Maze is family-friendly. There's nothing scary, gory, or haunted about it. No one's going to jump out at you or chase you. The only thing spooky about it is the lack of light, so you'll want to bring a flashlight.
The cafe is usually open and sells hot cider, hot chocolate, and donuts to warm you up.
Each stop within the maze is well-lit. The hayrides, all decked out in Christmas lights, run every few minutes or so, so if you wanted to hitch a ride to or from the parking/check-in area to the maze entrance or to the café on the hillside, you won't have to wait long at all.
Wandering about the maze in the dark is a real thrill, especially when you can only hear the voices of the people around you, and barely make out shapes in the dim light between the lit stops.
You'll want some extra layers and hats and gloves if it gets cold. They do have some campfires going to warm up around, too.
You may also want some extra napkins or hand wipes to clean yourselves up because, despite the temperature, you should enjoy a victory ice cream at the end.
This year, Treworgy's Night Maze will run on Friday and Saturday, October 18th and 19th, and the following Friday and Saturday, October 25th and 26th.
