You may be asking yourself "just why is the Power to the Pedal Fundraiser so important for the County Dialysis Center?"

The answer is simple. Without the County Dialysis Center, where would people go for treatment? Bangor? Boston? What kind of life would that be? Having to travel hours upon hours a few times a week, or even patients and families uprooting their entire life to move closer to a treatment center. What kind of life would that be?

That's why the County Dialysis Center is so important. Dialysis patients can get their treatment right here in the County, close to their home and their loved ones.

Power to the Pedal – a race in place” is the only event in our region whose sole purpose is to raise funds to improve dialysis care in The County.

The current treatment center has become outdated, with no substantial renovations since its opening in 1997. It currently serves more patients than was originally envisioned and space within the facility is at a premium. The majority of treatment chairs are ten years old and the hemodialysis machines are approaching the end of useful life. Replacement of life-giving technology has begun at The County Dialysis Center, and community support is important, as there is great need.

County Dialysis Manager Pam Frank explains why the need is so important. Have a quick listen.

Please help us make this life-sustaining treatment facility as patient-friendly, accessible, and efficient as possible for your friends, neighbors, and family members.

Consider forming a Power to the Pedal team of your own or just make a donation today! All funds raised stay right here in the County and will help with the care of your friends and neighbors.
