Maine Man Who Staged Kidnapping and Rescue of Teen Indicted for Murder

A Maine man attempting to stage the kidnapping and rescue of a teenage girl, so that he would be deemed a "hero", has been indicted on murder charges after the girl was found dead.

According to an affidavit, Kyle Dube, 20, utilized a phony Facebook account to trick 15-year-old Nichole Cable into coming home, where he planned to stage her kidnapping and release in hopes of being labeled a hero.

However, the entire scheme went drastically wrong, as Nichole’s body was discovered earlier this month in some woods, after she had been missing for nearly a week.

Ultimately, it was a friend of Nichole’s that lead authorities to the house of 20-year-old Kyle Dube, where upon tracing the fake Facebook account, investigators were able to determine that it had in fact originated from there.
