AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — A man who lived alone in the Maine woods for nearly three decades may soon be admitted to a special court program and released from jail.

There are no plans to prosecute the infamous North Pond Hermit – at least not yet. Earlier today, Kennebec County District Attorney Maeghan Maloney said that she would not be immediately seeking an indictment for Christopher Knight when she meets with the grand jury at the end of the month.
