Today is the birthday of one of my favorite people in rock and roll. The man who, with his old band, changed the face of the genre. The man who is not only a pioneer, but also a champion of a bygone era and one of rock's biggest cheerleaders.

First of all, we need to stop referring to this craze that is all over the news as a 'game.'  It's not a game, it's assault, pure and simple.  When the news media calls it a 'trend,' it breaks wide open because more idiots will give it a shot.  One kid learned the hard way how stupid it really is.

I know the answer to the question I’m about to ask but I thought I’d throw it out there to get some feedback. Growing up, no one in my family was musical yet I turned out to be both a musician and a songwriter. Does that mean that if my kids are exposed to their Dad the musician that they’ll scoff at the idea of being a musician? Part of me wants them to.
